MTV's newest season of "The Real World" is being filmed about 20 feet from my house. This blog will chronicle the pain and annoyance they put me and my neighbors through as well as the heckling my friends and I plan for the newest crop of "real worlders."

I was going to go on a rant like Anon or Cristin (love the spelling) but I don't think I even have to. You talk about how these people come in invading your lives in DC but it's so clear that you're the one stalking theeeem. Get a life. So lame-oooo that you have this website... And I don't think I see ad's on your site so you're throwing money away just to do what? Seem like a do-gooder (because that's what we do in DC) for others? To be perfectly honest you and the rest of the NW GW trust fund babies (working for non-profits doing 'good') are all the same... lame ass hipster wannabee's and you're just sour because of the age restrictions on the show. Grow up and leave this behind you my dear.

yeah i agree with cristin... this is one of those issues re gyms where i think: ok, if you need to have all the equipment to yourself, and you're that bothered by people working out around you, then you need to buy a million dollar home and put a gym in the basement. real world or no real world.

i know you need a story for the blog, but calling sports club management is just being whiny. switch to one of the million other gyms in dc.

Seriously? I mean SERIOUSLY? How on earth does this truly affect us as members of this club? IT DOESN'T!

It's not like they can bring in fans to stand around and gawk at them working out...and it's not like them being on a piece of equipment, being filmed, is in anyway going to prohibit us from working out.

We can still go about our daily routine, come in, get on equipment and work out and leave. Just because a camera may be pointed on someone else on a different piece of equipment doesn't mean we can't do what we always do. I mean, hell, they can't film us, they can't even TALK to us (which is ridiculous..if I'm on a piece of equipment and I feel like chatting with the person on the machine next to me, I should be able to, regardless of who that is), they can't take showers even (again RIDICULOUS...how is one cast member coming in to shower after their work out, which would be sans cameras, affecting our showering and getting ready for our day, you know?)...

In an economy where restaurants, gyms, etc are truly hurting for business and can't afford to advertise, as a community we should be embracing that, thanks to this show, establishments are getting FREE publicity and are having people attend, enroll, eat, drink etc at their places all because they might run into the cast. It brings in a HUGE influx of money into our community and our establishments, for which we should be grateful! The economy in this area is being invigorated simply because, not only tourists, but locals, are hoping to "catch a glimpse" of some piece of entertainment (much like when movies film, etc). That is a wonderful thing for these restaurants, etc. which are suffering financially.
